I am teacher Ariana! I am married and have three children and a dog. I enjoy walks by the water, cooking, and spending time with my family. I lived and taught preschool in Sequim but have just purchased a home and moved to Port Angeles. After high school I attended Peninsula College to obtain my Early Childhood Education Certificates and Associates Degree. I have gained most of my work experience through the Head Start Program and the Educare Center at Peninsula College. Did I mention that I speak Spanish too? When needed, I help translate the worship service for our Pastor in English. I attend a small Hispanic Church off highway 101 in Sequim. I am part of the leadership crew at Movimiento Evangelistico Agua de Vida. I am excited to be teaching at St. Matthew and I look forward to working with the children, supporting their early years of education, and most importantly teaching them about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Hello preschool families!
My name is Michelle Nilsen and I am thrilled to be serving as a Teacher’s Assistant at St. Matthews Lutheran Preschool this school year. For the past 23 years I have served, first as a teacher and then as the Director, for Prince of Peace Lutheran Preschool in Everett, WA. Last summer, with my youngest daughter getting married and moving into her new life, I felt the call to retire from Prince of Peace, sell my townhouse and move to my cabin out on Lake Sutherland. My prayer was to still work but in a lessor capacity…God answered that prayer by bringing me to St. Matthews!
I actually have two daughters and two grandsons from my oldest daughter (yes, they are my greatest joy!!) I love to hike with my dogs, spend time with family and friends and read. But most of all, I love to spend “be still” time with my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Bible verse I live my life by: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
